What is the maximum daily loss?

Written by BTF Prop Funding

The maximum daily loss is designed to limit how much you can lose within a single trading day, helping you maintain consistent risk control.

At BTF Prop Funding, the maximum daily loss is set at 5% of your account’s highest balance or equity (whichever is greater), and it is calculated daily.

This rule helps prevent excessive losses and ensures disciplined trading throughout the day.

Example

If your account balance is $100,000, your maximum daily loss limit is $5,000.

This means your equity — including open trades — must not fall below $95,000 at any point during the trading day.
